Argentina

LA RIOJANA

In 1940, a group of Italian immigrants, many of whom were winegrowers, came together to establish a small bodega. They planted vineyards in the province of La Rioja, located in the northwest of Argentina. Today, La Riojana stands as one of the largest and most successful cooperatives in Argentina, proudly holding the title of the world’s largest producer of certified Fairtrade organic wine.

The cooperative currently consists of approximately 500 members, predominantly small-scale producers from across the La Rioja province, owning less than three hectares of land. Many of these members are descendants of former cooperative members, ensuring that family traditions of grape production endure within the cooperative.

The picturesque and remote Famatina Valley in La Riojana is home to the majority of the cooperative’s 4,125 hectares of vineyards. The Famatina Valley, a natural agricultural paradise, boasts a variety of soils ranging from loam to sandy loam, as well as high-altitude vineyards situated between 900 to 1,400 meters above sea level. The region enjoys warm and sunny days, cold nights, and minimal precipitation.

Chile

Tierra Del Fuego

Tierra del Fuego, meaning “Land of Fire” in Spanish, derives its name from the low sun rays that give the land a fiery glow during spring and autumn. The region’s hot and dry summers, coupled with cool winters, create ideal conditions for producing exceptional wines. The valley is surrounded by towering mountain peaks adorned with eternal snow. As night falls, cold air descends from these mountains, enveloping the valley’s vines and preserving the grapes’ crisp acidity.

DIE WEINMACHER

Situated opposite Alsace, the beautiful region of Pfalz resides. This area once belonged to France but was reintegrated into Germany after land redistribution following World War II. Pfalz benefits from its soil, climate, and centuries-old wine traditions. The region experiences a mild and sunny climate, with the vines basking in nearly 2,000 hours of sunshine. The surrounding mountains act as protective barriers against excessive wind and rainfall. The terroir, characterized by sand, clay, red sandstone, and gravel, imparts a distinctive character to the vines.

Die Weinmacher GmbH embodies excellence and unwavering tradition. The key to their success lies in the harmonious collaboration between dedicated winemakers, the pursuit of winemaking at the highest level, and state-of-the-art cellar technology.

Moldova

Castel Mimi

Moldova may be relatively unknown in the wine market, but it dedicates over 10% of its arable land to vineyards, and its winemaking tradition stretches back thousands of years. Moldova’s geographical location, similar to Bordeaux, combined with gentle sea breezes and favorable soil composition, provides an excellent environment for cultivating a wide variety of grape varieties.

Castel Mimi derives its name from its founder, Constantin Mimi, a colorful figure in Moldovan history who served as the last governor of Moldova and was highly regarded as a statesman. However, more than anything, Constantin Mimi was a winemaker. With a deep-rooted passion for winemaking, he refined his knowledge in France and Germany before establishing Moldova’s first genuine wine chateau.

Constantin Mimi perfected old family recipes while embracing innovation, and his family carried on this tradition. Castel Mimi continues to produce flawless, pure, and top-quality wines that have received numerous awards and recognition.
